UNDER THE SNOW

Entertained by watching the minority fall
The government was founded on robbing Peter to pay Paul;
If you have no money, don’t fret it
For that’s why we have credit;
They say cul-de-sacs
Are where it’s at;
Suburbs resembling eggshells
Don’t be too quick to sound the victory bells;
Republican or Democrat
What are the actual stats?
Internal Revenue Tax
People do you honestly know the facts?
Schools of segregation
Shades of discrimination;
The present infections
Of Presidential elections
Make your corrections
Detour the deflection:
Area Fifty-One
Government secrets have only just begun;
From the get go
We were under the snow;
Truth be told
Suit lies get old;
This broken record has been spinning
While no one is truly winning;
Hooded heads
We hear what you’ve said;
Superiority is the name of the crazy game
Of the discombobulated brain;
Time has come and gone
Nonetheless, I hear the same old tired song;
Stop calling in the Army
For all we are waiting for is harmony;
To outgrow despair
Of the heartless millionaire
In an Unamerican affair;
Can we pull ourselves out of this hole
Can we save our mortal soul?

RESIDENT PESTS

(A TRUE EXPERIENCE JUST IN TIME FOR HALLOWEEN)

Uninvited strangers living within my quarters
A cold wind sweeps as I step into the corridor
Could it be a two-hundred year old Porter?
What’s that tap on the wall
Was it my name I heard you call?
For Heaven’s sake
Was that an earthquake?
Do I dare
Tell you my bed was swaying in the air?
How many people are living in this home?
I thought I was here all alone;
There hasn’t been a doorbell for over twenty years
So why did I hear a chime so clear?
The kitchen becomes a busy diner when Three AM rolls around
It’s quite impossible since I’m still bedded down;
Silverware flying
Babies crying;
Although no one is there
I hear whispers in the air;
A hint of musty aged rose perfume
Am I turning into a loon?
I’m standing in the middle of a true Nightmare on Elm Street Pic
My life is a Freddy Kruegar Flick;
Inhabitants that were sent to their eternal place of rest
Have now become unwanted resident pests.

PIE A LA MODE

A poet speaks
With words tweaked;
To him the message is as clear as day
Although the words in secret, he can’t give away;
The journey gives him plenty of life lessons
Which help the troubles to lessen;
It becomes an inquisitive caper
Through pencil and paper;
Embarrassed to explain
Feeling somewhat contrite and ashamed;
In obvious conversation
Such personal information
A life learned from past generations;
So please understand
Most of what I write is not planned;
It falls from the Heaven’s cloud
Speaks to my spirit aloud;
In sorrow and in joy
It becomes a writer’s favorite toy;
Therefore, to enjoy every flavor of the Pie A La Mode
You must decipher the full code.

PROJECT JANINA

Hello beautiful people. As you are all aware, I haven’t posted for some time. I am sitting in between a rock and a hard spot. I want to share something with you. I am currently looking to publish my works. My problem is that many publishers are looking for content that has not ever been published. I continue to write on a daily basis. I know how you may enjoy reading my poems. I appreciate that. Thank You so much. I will continue to post on this blog. I will keep you all updated on any success that I may have on the publishing of my book.

I am involved with something that is near and dear to my heart. Two years ago, my grand-daughter suffered from Gillian Barre Syndrome. It was a devastating time for my family and I. We weren’t aware of the outcome. The waiting was just a killer. When a child gets ill, the family funds become quickly depleted. Thank God for the organization called Cali Kids out of San Diego. These people are truly angels from above. They were able to help my daughter for the duration of my baby girl’s stay, a total of one month. Although left with a few deficits, my baby girl recovered. She experiences body pain on a daily basis and she has permanently lost the hearing in one of her ears.

Therefore, I have started what I call Project Janina. I am sewing masks to donate to the Cali Kids Organization. I’d like to give a shout out to the Ronald Mc Donald House for their kindness in feeding and housing families. We are ever so very grateful. In the world we live in today, it’s sure comforting to know that there are true loving people out there who are ready to lend a helping hand. I wish you all love and peace. In this COVID world, please be safe.

PLAIN JANE

Your environment
What does it represent?
Simplicity?
A bit witty
Or far from pretty?
Work up
Decorate your coffee cup;
Take out the fine porcelain pottery
Display all that beauty like you won the lottery;
Prepare
To place down the silverware
Be aware
Of self care;
Mirror gaze
Bump it up to the next phase;
Brush on that facial foundation
Eye shadow renovation;
Curl those lashes
Take out the lip stick stashes;
To make it complete
A little pink on the cheek;
When life gives you plain Jane
It’s up to You to make it rain;
Give your universe vitality
Decorate the reality!
