TAKE NOTE

In and out of every bar in town
With the ladies, messing around
Your wife is looking, but you cannot be found;
You go home
However, your mind continues to roam;
Is it worth the matrimony
Do I want to pay alimony?
The days of playing the field
Mimic the corner sign, “Yield;”
Even though my mind feels wired
My body is old and tired;
Now an invalid and confined
No more Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo time;
Life teaches you all about respect
It constantly keeps you in check;
Laying in disposable gear
You never thought you would get here;
Take note
Hope floats
When you think you can sow a lifetime of wild oats.

NO PLEASANTRIES

Some people age gracefully
While others age seriously;
Without control or ease
No pleasantries;
It’s enough to put one into a depression
Request a psychological session;
Life sure knows how to be mean
It gives you nothing in between;
It’s cold and cruel
It operates with no rules
It serves you a wasted, wrinkled mug
No one wants to hug;
Youngsters, don’t accelerate the life train
Don’t hurry up to marry just to change your name;
The unknown life of an adult is always intriguing
Don’t deny yourself happiness and healing
Be happy with who you’ve become and accept the person that is leaving.

DEJA VU

I dedicate this poem to A-2. She has requested poetry from me that doesn’t rhyme.

In a strange old farmhouse
Where the floors scratch and squeak;
On a torn turquoise pleated fabric couch
Sits an elderly man in flannel attire
In a position slouched;
His hair, long, matted, and gray
I can’t figure out the meaning to this day;
In an old fashioned parlor
A musty aroma in the air;
I see mouths moving
But no words
Are heard;
Looking around
Taking in the view;
In an unfamiliar dream
I feel a Deja Vu.

CATASTROPHE

In facial plaster
The master of disaster;
In basic communication
A hand of retaliation;
Delusion
Common folk exclusion;
Digresser
Repressor;
Blot out number forty-five
For all he did was destroy, deny, and deprive;
Not worth the ink to be written in a book of history
Life has become a Steven King Horror Mystery;
Financial insecurity
Childish immaturity;
While starvation
Is engulfing our Nation;
History will record
How he ignored;
All the Americans with empty pockets and empty breakfast plates
And his narcissistic traits;
Racial divide
Is well and alive;
He didn’t do his job
In the meantime, government monies are being robbed;
While our foundation stands unstable
Empty seats are being left at the dinner table;
Decision making on a whim
Leaving each of us hanging on a limb;
While our Commander in Chief
Is without grief;
Exhibiting no remorse
As he enjoys his life on the golf course;
While humanity has no means
No housing money rent routines
Less the sufficient number of life saving vaccines;
Legal prosecution
Should be a choice solution;
He’s creating a catastrophe
For You and Me;
I can only say
Throw his sorry tail out with no pay.

THE PHANTOM LEADER

“IT UPSETS ME WHEN PEOPLE IN POWER THINK THEY ARE THE MAN OF THE HOUR”

When I started this Blog, my intention was to keep everything on a positive note. Nonetheless, there is something that is weighing heavy on my heart that I would like to share with You all.

I will never understand how a human being can be so evil. Given the hand of power, using it for only his benefit. In this world today, millions of people are starving, dying, and financially insecure. People don’t have the means to maintain a roof over their heads, take proper care of their loved ones due to financial constraints, while others have lost their livelihood in the form of the family owned business.

Within the beginning of the COVID Pandemic as within the last months, where is the financial relief and essential assistance? This holiday season has been one of the darkest times for many families. It saddens my spirit to know that we are in this unfortunate situation. The person in charge finally decides, at his own pace, to sign this COVID Relief Bill. Why, thank you, Mr. President.

For a couple of months now, he’s been out of commission, pouting, due to his loss in the 2020 elections. Therefore, the phantom leader, intentionally indecisive, is punishing the citizens who didn’t vote for him. In limbo, he leaves us. “Do I sign the Bill, yes? No?” It’s as though he has been purposely dangling a piece of meat on a stick in front of the American people, teasing us, giving us hope then pulling the rug from underneath us. All for one objective, to make himself look good. He and his enablers should be ashamed of themselves.

There is a reason for all of life’s trials. With great misfortune, we must endure the difficult times so that we may gain strength and knowledge. In consolation, I am here to tell you that Your GOD is alive and well. He shows discontent to those who harm HIS flock. GOD has the final word. No matter how many stacks of Benjamins you have boxed in your safe, or the dollar amount of your portfolio, you will reap what you sow.

A RUBBER BAND TWANG

Body parts
A work of art;
A rubber band twang
Has more give than a plain white string;
Soon elasticity gradually goes south
The lines become deeper on each side of your mouth;
As we meet the tunnel end
The reflection one sees is not pretend;
The dermal mass on your arms and your tummy
Begin to bounce down and become runny;
It’s like holding a handful of freshly made toffee
Rolling up to serve with coffee
Tucking it all in your shirt to avoid looking sloppy;
Easy to offend
Gravity is not your friend;
A look in the mirror head trip
Then reality comes to grip;
I’d be drowning in over one hundred dollar bills
If I could sell this abundant self made skin mill.

PSYCHOLOGICAL CAST

Greetings! I recognize I am a day late and a dollar short. I hope you all had a wonderful and safe Christmas. I would like to wish you a Happy New Year. I pray that Your God will put His sacred hand over this world. I also pray that 2021 will bring unity and equality for all of God’s Children. We live in a universe of such abundance and opportunity. Can you imagine the beauty of a world where we all came together for one purpose? To love and elevate one another. Wow! What a beautiful thought. Thank you all once again for following my blog, Tranquil Mountain. I appreciate all of my followers from day one. To the newcomers, Welcome aboard. Peace and many blessings to all.

Follow the Star
It’s not too far;
In the dark winter’s night
The brilliant light
Has come into plain sight;
After walking for miles
Laying on straw piles;
A babe in swaddled clothes
Ten fingers and ten toes;
Underneath a wooden gable
Among all the animals in the stable
It’s the Creator in a cradle;
Not knowing what the world awaits
Blind to His fate;
Since that day the years have past
2020 put us in a psychological cast;
Oh when, sweet Jesus , will you come for us?
Load us in Your Celestial Bus;
Rescue us from this never ending storm
This deadly bee swarm;
I have nothing but time to burn
While I eagerly await your return.

THE SEASONAL SONGS

So You didn’t
Good riddance;
“That should have been Mine”
People say that all the time;
“I was supposed to do this today
But something got in the way;”
Grab on to your Faith
For there is a time and a place;
Like the seasonal songs we sing
There is a time for everything;
Life is a contrast
Have a blast
Quit living in the past.

WITHOUT CONDITION

How does it feel to be a female parent
Who gave one hundred percent?
Loved her babes without condition
Made every prudent decision;
Loved, clothed, and fed
Careful with the words that you said;
Gave the opportunity of an education
Without personal expectations;
Although it was temporary
At times you became my adversary;
When you were ill
The last thing on my mind was the doctor bill;
In each frilly dress and faded blue jeans
You were always my little queens;
The gone days of yesterday
My status, old and gray;
Now that I can’t give you much
You don’t keep in touch;
I know you are given to me on loan
You have no time for Mom now that you are grown.

“ENOUGH!”

You may not be aware
Our Father in Heaven does not play Truth or Dare;
There comes a time when God says, “Enough!”
Disappointed and broken
Silent spoken
Like a tender hummingbird
We are given these words;
“Enough of all that monkey business stuff;
I have tried to be your Guide
Although You chose to continue that wild ride;
I’ve tried to steer You in the right direction
For Your own protection;
But You choose to live your days
In earthly ways;
I regret this drop
Nonetheless, your out of control ways must stop;
For I AM the Lord, Your Creator
The Divine Savior
You must adjust and recognize your behavior;
For if You get off track
You will force My hand to act.”
Open your eyes to the visible light
For God leads by Faith not by sight.
